Whether in parliamentary debates, talk shows, editorials or at regular tables: pessimism and fear of decline are spread everywhere. Failures are exaggerated, successes are downplayed or not even mentioned. Even abroad, people often don't speak very well about Germany. The fatal impression arises that Germany is not up to the current challenges and is on the verge of collapse. The Germans have every reason to be proud of the republic. Because this country is better than its reputation.
